Dr Peter Vickers is an Australian trained specialist in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery working as an assistant and locum in the practice of RJ Begg and Associates, Strowan, Canterbury since 2021.

Peter has trained in Australia, USA, UK and holds registration in Australia, New Zealand, Cyprus and Ukraine. He is a resident of Ukraine and Cyprus. He is a designated surgeon from the European Union of Medical Specialists to the Ukraine war. He has participated in 5 deployments via the First Territorial Medical Union Lviv, Ukraine. He holds Fellowship of the European Board of Craniomaxillfacial/ Head and Neck Surgery. He specialises in gunshot wound, mine blast, improvised explosive device, artillery shrapnel and drone injuries to the head and neck.

Peter will explain the journey from New Zealand to Ukraine in the context of logistical and administrative challenges as well as the treatment of major facial trauma in war. Peter has been awarded permanent residence of Ukraine on account of his service.
